XL to open office in Manchester

XL Group has announced plans to open an office in Manchester to grow its business with middle market clients and brokers.

The insurer has appointed Mick Turvey as regional underwriting manager, UK middle markets, to head-up the new operation and confirmed that it will also recruit two underwriters for the Manchester office.

Denis Burniston, chief underwriting officer, UK & Ireland middle markets, said: "Clients and brokers in the middle market segment appreciate having local access to the expertise they need to address their risks.
