Young women drivers impacted by EU gender directive

Women drivers aged between 17 and 20 saw motor premiums increase by an average of 16.4% between September and December 2012.

According to the latest Confused.com/Towers Watson Car Insurance Price Index, men drivers in the same age group saw premiums fall by an average of 10.7% over the same period.

Variations in the percentage change in prices quoted for young men and women over the final quarter of last year were greatest for drivers in Outer London, where a 28.2% difference was recorded, and Northern Ireland, where the difference was 28.8%.

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
