Car collision cheat handed eight-month jail sentence
A car collision cheat has been sentenced to eight months in prison after attempting to claim for an accident that never happened.
Michael Rajinder Singh, 47, from Doncaster, told insurer LV that he had been involved in a crash on 16 January 2010.
His policy had a reserve on the claims for £120,000 while the costs sought included medical treatment for the two drivers and five fictitious passengers for personal injuries, car repairs, credit hire and storage, as well as all third party legal costs.
However, after an investigation, LV rejected the claim on the grounds that the accident had never taken place.
