Macquarie Bank pulls out of UK broker loans market

Macquarie Bank has decided to withdraw from the UK loans market for brokers with immediate effect.

The news emerged in an email from Aviva to Club 110 members seen by Insurance Age.

In the email Nick Burrows, broker propositions manager at the provider, wrote: "We have been contacted by Macquarie Bank who have advised us of their decision to withdraw from the UK loans market.

"We have been working with Macquarie Bank for just over two years and in that time they have supported a number of 110 members."

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
