Alesco has snapped up risk and insurance power construction specialist Alison Baker from Aon.

The energy broker confirmed that Ms Baker - who boasts 30 years' industry experience - will join Alesco's power team in December 2012.

Previously, Ms Baker - who has also worked for Marsh - has represented both owners and developers on power projects in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Alesco said Ms Baker's arrival and experience would bring a "significant talent" to its growing book of clients in the power project-financed sector.
