Arista looks to the Outback for new senior underwriter

Arista Insurance has moved to appoint Grant Twist as senior underwriter in its Midlands team in a bid to better serve the region.

Mr Twist - who was previously development underwriter for CGU Insurance in Australia, part of IAG - will be responsible for new business development in his new role.

According to the commercial lines underwriting specialist, the move will strengthen Arista's support for brokers in the area.

Arista said a greater number of broker-facing staff will have underwriting experience, as well as the authority to make decisions.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
