Aviva reveals "handful" of mid-management job losses

Aviva has today confirmed that a "handful" of middle-management jobs will be lost across the country as part of its ongoing restructuring drive.

The job cuts are part of the insurer's policy designed to make the business better at servicing brokers, as well as boosting efficiency across the board.

Last month, Aviva's new chairman John McFarlane pledged to bring about a "leaner and more agile operating culture" and "less layered and bureaucratic management style".

Up to ten jobs are expected to be cut in the UK and, confirming the latest changes, an Aviva spokesman said: "The changes we have announced today are just focused on driving
