Cinema-goers are currently flocking in their masses to see Batman take his final stand against deadly villain Bane. It comes just a few weeks after Spiderman came back to spin to his web once more against perilous enemy, the Lizard. What has this got to do with Market moves I hear our loyal readers cry? Well, ‘tis the season for a good old-fashioned summer blockbuster.

Topping the bill was Aviva with a large-scale shake-up of its senior management team. David McMillan, formerly chief executive (CEO), UK and Ireland general insurance, was appointed director, group transformation. Filling the void is Robin Spencer, who will also remain a member of the group executive, reporting to John McFarlane and Trevor Matthews. And, completing the merry-go-round of changes, John Lister replaced Mr Spencer as group chief capital and risk officer and will join the group
