Kwik-Fit to axe up to 170 jobs

Kwik-Fit Financial Services (KFFS) has confirmed plans to merge its insurance business onto one site with the loss of up to 170 jobs.

At present, the broker operates two centres, one near Glasgow and a smaller operation in Great Barr, Birmingham. The proposal is to close the Birmingham centre, where the job losses would occur, and begin relocating the remaining staff to the Glasgow centre.

The news came out as the broker confirmed the start of a 90 day consultation period with staff.
