Peter Hubbard appointed executive chairman at UK General

Peter Hubbard

Former Axa UK CEO, Peter Hubbard, has been appointed the new executive chairman of the UK General Group following the resignation of Howard Posner.

Mr Posner spent three years as executive chairman of UK General Group. Mr Hubbard is currently a non-executive director of the company and is also a director of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a non-executive board member of law firm Keoghs.

A statement issued by the board said: “We would like to thank Howard for his contribution to the success of UK General to date and wish him all the best for the future.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
