Number of chartered brokers nears the 100 mark
The Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) drive for professionalism has seen 12 insurers and 94 broking firms commit to chartered status according to its annual review of 2011.
The professional body has also seen a 6% hike in membership to 102,221. In addition 225 firms have pledged commitment to the Aldermanbury Declaration.
The CII's revenues increased last year to £38.14m (£33.97m: 2010) which produced a net surplus of £1.86m.
The commitment to the Aldermanbury Declaration contributed to an increase in demand for CII examinations which rose to 110,000 in 2011 up from 85,000 the year before.
