Oval restructure leads to three new board appointments

Executive board members at Oval have moved quickly to explain the firm’s ongoing restructuring process amid suggestions that former group managing director Jeff Herdman has been demoted.

Insurance Age's sister title Post has learnt that the company's latest board reshuffle will see five executive directors heading up four portfolios, with Mr Herdman concentrating on operations in a role in which he claims he volunteered for.

Elsewhere, Patrick O'Connell will take over as portfolio holder for insurance broking while Simon Shaw and Steven Mitchell will take over the finance and financial services portfolios respectively.
