Judging by our reportage on regulation, the powers that be in Whitehall have no intention of relieving the pressure on brokers. This is despite the fact that the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) commissioned independent research that found the risk posed by the general insurance broking community was rather limited.

And of course, the ever-present PPI has reared its head again, the Bribery Act is still rattling cages and, as the Power hour shows, the legal expenses market is coming to terms with wholesale legislative changes.

It often seems all we talk about is regulation and legislation and it gets a bit wearing. But if it is getting tedious to write about, readers must be at the end of their tether actually dealing with it.

FCA warns on Tempcover clone

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning of fraudsters trying to scam people by pretending to be short-term car insurance specialist broker Tempcover including on TikTok.

Brokers push for more from RSA/NIG

Brokers have given a mixed report on communication levels around the RSA and NIG deal but with the process kicking forwards today have expressed the hope the takeover will make more products available.
