Exeter-based broker targets South west with Devon acquistion

UK records surge in all-equity buyouts

Fidelius Insurance Services has acquired Devon-based Ottery Insurance Services for an undisclosed sum.

Ottery Insurance Services currently controls £2.4m in gross written premium and under the terms of the deal, Fidelius will retain all nine employees.

Fidelius, which also has offices in Bath, said the acquisition formed part of plans to grow its business in the south west.

Brokers have mixed reaction on Zurich/Beazley deal

Insurance brokers have given a mixed response to the potential Zurich/Beazley deal highlighting the acquisition would create a “strong proposition” and could create opportunities but noted another competitor leaving the market as a medium-term worry.
