E-commerce: Coverzones revival to spark more aggregator integration

The re-launch of Coverzones, which was recently saved from administration, could trigger greater integration between commercial and personal aggregators, following overtures from its chief executive.

Former chief executive of commercial aggregator Coverzones, Simon Ball, said while he had no plans to diversify into personal lines, the "inevitable consolidation" that would occur in the price comparison market would prompt others to move into the commercial arena.

"I respect and appreciate the work that personal lines aggregators have done and am open to working with them to form mutually beneficial relationships," he said.

It came as a report by Defaqto revealed that 65% of the top 20
