BVCA branches into insurance

The British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) has launched BVCA Insurance Services.

BVCA said the new insurance arm would bring increased insurance purchasing effectiveness, introduce bespoke products and act as an independent information source to BVCA members and their approximately 6,000 investee companies whose spend on insurance is estimated to be in excess of £1bn per annum.

Aviva to open US commercial lines branch in New York

Aviva is setting up an onshore surplus lines business in the US, based in New York City, with a target of starting to trade in the second quarter of this year in a move it claimed will strengthen its proposition for brokers and clients.
