ALP amends online ATE offering ahead of MoJ reforms
Abbey Legal Protection (ALP) is amending the premium model of its online after-the-event (ATE) insurance service, Accident Line Protect Plus, ahead of claims reforms due to take effect on 30 April.
Under the reforms being introduced by the Ministry of Justice, road traffic accident (RTA) claims cases valued up to £10,000, claims will have to be logged and processed through an online portal.
Where liability is admitted within a 15 day period and there are no issues of contributory negligence or causation, a fixed process will resolve quantum by agreement. In default, a court hearing will decide quantum and legal costs will be fixed for lawyers in process cases.
