Oxygen creates affinity unit

Oxygen Insurance Brokers, a subsidiary of Oxygen Holdings, has announced the appointment of former Howden divisional director Steve Johnson as head of affinity.

Based in the Leeds office, Mr Johnson will be part of Oxygen Partners, the broker’s wholesale and schemes division.

For over 22 years, Mr Johnson has provided a range of specialist insurance programmes for psychotherapy, counselling and associated professions. He joins from Howden, where he was divisional director.

His appointment marks the creation of a new business unit dedicated to the full service of affinity clients. Based in Leeds, the team will service accounts throughout the UK.

Nigel Barton, chief executive officer, Oxygen Holdings, said: “Stephen’s appointment is an important development in the growth of our wholesale services and we are delighted to have him on board.”

Andrew Wallin, managing director, Oxygen Partners, said: “The creation of an Affinity Unit is an important strategic goal in the development of our services. We will now build a team experienced in providing a full cycle affinity schemes service.”
