Lloyd's chairman named as the 2009 Insurance Leader of the Year

Lloyd’s chairman, Lord Levene, has been named the 2009 Insurance Leader of the Year by the St John’s University School of Risk Management at its 15th annual award dinner in New York last night.

The award honoured his global perspective and willingness to speak publicly about industry issues and topics. 

It also recognised the re-emergence of Lloyd's to a position of strength after difficult times and the example the marketplace provides for the wider financial services industry.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
