Towergate-owned broker ad banned

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned a promotional campaign by British Insurance

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned a direct mail promotional campaign by Towergate-owned broker British Insurance for being “misleading”.

The advert stated “thank you for your recent online application for insurance, which was incomplete and therefore cannot be accepted. If you would like to re-apply, please go to www.safetyfirst.co.uk where you will find full details” and went on to promote British Insurance’s protection insurance.

The complainant said the direct mailing was

McCafferty leaves chair role at BDH

Brendan McCafferty has left Top 100 Broker BDH, Insurance Age can reveal, with the business confirming it was an ‘amicable’ departure and there are no plans to replace the now former chair.
