Intermediary complaints on rise

According to figures from the Financial Services Authority the number of complaints against insurance intermediaries have increased every year from 2006 to 2008

The number of complaints against general insurance intermediaries have risen year on year, according to new figures released today by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

The total number of complaints increased to 218,901 in 2008, compared to 156,309 in 2007 and 141,418 in 2006.

In a bid to increase transparency, the FSA has, for the first time, published aggregate figures showing how many complaints regulated firms have received and how they have dealt with them.

The data also shows that
