Allianz Cornhill has predicted that broker membership of networks and alliances will grow over the next five years. The insurer carried out extensive research among over 600 brokers in order to examine the current and future market segmentation. The results show that, while 91% of brokers are currently independent, by 2010 17% of these are highly likely to have joined a network or alliance. Only 40% of the independent brokers surveyed stated that there is no likelihood of them joining a network
