Insurers don't get a look in

It seems it is up to the British Insurance Brokers' Association and the General Insurance Standards Council to take up the cudgels on behalf of the general insurance market.

Just how important is general insurance regulation?


This may sound a strange question but it kept gnawing away at me as I
listened to Sir Howard Davies talk at the Association of British Insurers
conference. Why? Because the insurers have barely addressed it.


There was lots of talk about life, pensions and retail financial services,
and international regulation, but very, very little about general
insurance.
