Brokers could face a bombardment of time-consuming year 2000compliance questionnaires from individual insurers if the Association of
British Insurer's millennium database is scrapped.
Over 15,000 ABI questionnaires were sent out to brokers, intermediaries
and IFA's in early May and were due back at the beginning of last
month.
However, to date, only 13% of forms have been returned; far short of the
40% the ABI stated would be required to make the database feasible.
