The Confederation of British Industry's 2004 Employment Trends Survey has revealed that 69% of employers saw a rise in weak or unmerited claims last year, despite a 25% fall overall in employment tribunal claims. It also showed that just 35% thought the tribunal system was effective, while 50% viewed it as too confrontational and 30% said it was too costly.
