Q: I have a number of household clients living in recently-flooded areas. How can I ensure they are able to obtain flood cover when the moratorium ends in December?
A: This is extremely difficult to resolve as insurers are expressingdifferent views on actions they may take.
The government has pledged more money to flood defences but this is
wrapped up in so much spin it is difficult to see where the short-term
benefit will be. There is clearly a good deal of lobbying going on and you
could encourage your potentially affected clients to write to their MP's
to explain their concerns.
