The Association of British Insurers and Polaris have launched aninitiative in order to help Polaris-compliant companies trade more
effectively on the Internet.
Polaris users will now be able to define their products in a special
Internet format - extensible mark-up language (XML). This will mean that
client and product data being processed on the Run Time Environment (the
Polaris rating engine) can transfer seamlessly from one website to
another.
The new standard has not previously been used in UK
