Andrew Homer, Axa chief executive, attended the recent Bournemouth
CII dinner and while enjoying his customary pre-dinner pint was approached
by the barmaid who asked if his beer was okay.


She explained the barrel had just been changed and did not want anyone to
have food poisoning. The astute Mr Homer noticed an Independent employee
in reception and in jocular fashion commented he would be quite happy to
make a product liability claim against them.


Mr Homer was astonished when the barmaid retorted
