Katherine Brandon investigates how some brokers are thinking in the wholesale market

In December 2008, Bollington announced that, after having bought FM Green in 2006, it had formed a wholesale division to operate independently from the rest of the business. Towergate has also acquired many wholesale brokers over the last 10 years and in March revealed that it is to launch an electronic trading commercial wholesale division - Power Place - in April.

Most wholesale brokers fall into one of two groups: players offering electronic trading propositions and those with niche offerings
