Lord Hunt has called on the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to be more transparent, following the publication of his independent report into the service - Opening Up, Reaching Out and Aiming High.

According to Lord Hunt, the ombudsman needed to "improve its outreach activities and go back to basics, refocusing on its founding principles of speed, informality and independence".

He also called on the FOS to evolve into an authentic one-stop shop for individuals with legitimate complaints against
