I just wanted to congratulate Tony Cornell on his excellent article on Treating Customers Fairly (Insurance Age, April, p16). It is just another case of the government meddling in something it does not fully understand. It is just a pity that General Insurance Standards Council membership was not made compulsory or statutory, as it would have saved the industry a great deal of time and money.
