CII Faculties launch fraud advisory podcasts
The CII Faculties have launched a series of podcasts, in conjunction with the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), to advise its claims, underwriting and broking members on current issues in fraud detection.
Sue Jones, head of unit for the IFB, will host the podcasts, offering guidance on how the insurance industry has been fighting organised fraud. She will also explain emerging challenges for practitioners trying to manage the problem, which has cost the industry £1.6bn a year, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
Additionally, Ms Jones will highlight the potential rise in internal fraud, with crime gang infiltration of contact centres and claims departments; the possible
