Get redundancy right or pay later warns Allianz

Allianz Legal Protection has reporting a record number of calls concerning redundancies to its legal protection helpline, Lawphone. In July 2007, just 2.4% of employment-related calls concerned redundancy, rising to 36% in July 2008.

A number of the calls have been from firms who have tried to use redundancies as a way of getting rid of unpopular or difficult employees. Attempts to make ‘sham’ redundancies often backfire leaving employers searching for advice to avoid a costly tribunal award.

SRG broker to wholesale pothole damage cover
