Ex-LV employee and conspirator jailed for bribery offences

This is the first time IFED officers have had a successful conviction under the Bribery Act.

The City of London Police's Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) has secured the conviction of ex-LV employee Stephen Karl Oates, aged 26 of Bournemouth and Aisha Elliott aged 23, from Yeovil.  

Elliott was employed by a claims management company, Elkador Finance. Oates worked for LV in its Third Party team.

On 20 December both individuals were sentenced to 12 months in prison at Bournemouth Crown Court, following an IFED investigation into a leak of confidential data by Oates to
