Zurich UK publishes GI claims data

Insurer says it has paid out £1bn in the first six months of 2016 with 70% of that going on general insurance claims.

Zurich said it has paid out £1bn in claims across its general insurance and life business in the first six months of 2016.

The insurer advised that 70% of this went to general insurance claims including those from its commercial and personal lines businesses.

The insurer advised that this is the first time it has published this level of detail for general insurance claims and stated that it represents a belief that the industry can do more to increase its transparency.
