Amlin UK reports £10m jump in GWP as motor fleet shows "particular improvement"

Amlin UK has reported a £10m increase in gross written premium (GWP) for the first four months of 2013.

The provider posted a GWP of £183m, compared with £172m for the same period of 2012.

Amlin stated that the UK commercial business was showing steady improvement, particularly in motor, with fleet motor rates increasing by 8% in the first four months of the year.

The insurer said its other UK commercial classes had experienced more modest increases, with the exception of professional indemnity “which remains highly competitive”.
