The Top 100 Independent Brokers 2010
The sixth edition of the Top 100 Independent Brokers supplement, published by Insurance Age in association with Cornell Consulting has thrown up a few surprises.
As the rest of the economy struggles under the strain of the recession, the UK broking market seems it have been holding its own. There is the odd player that has been taking advantage of the lull in consolidation and has made a move but, by and large acquisitions have been of a smaller scale than witnessed in the past.
There have only been three acquisitions within the top 100 representing a transfer of approximately £70m - a huge change from 2008 when 18 brokers within the top 100 had been
