As London 2012 fast approaches, insurers are looking towards how they can capitalise on the influx of tourists flooding London for the Olympics.

According to a poll conducted by Direct Line, nearly one in three UK homeowners questioned is considering renting out a room during the games at an average of £43 per night. The RBS-owned insurer has launched temporary cover for the Olympics for its home insurance policies to cater for the demand of would-be Games hotels.
