The Enterprise Act could have wide-ranging implications for brokers and claims, explains Stephen Netherway

You don’t need a lawyer to remind you the Insurance Act has been a big deal in 2016. But the Enterprise Act? For brokers this legislation could represent the very definition of ‘under the radar’ but that certainly shouldn’t mean it’s unimportant.

On the contrary, this new law means insureds will now be able to sue insurers for damages when claims are “unreasonably” delayed.
