Over two decades, the number of UK insurance brokers has been in serious decline. Where there were two provincial trade associations, now there is one; simply because the constituency of remaining brokers became insufficient to support more.

Is this because traditional brokers have become irrelevant in the modern world?

I don’t think so, particularly in relation to commercial lines and connected personal insurances. Even when it comes to standard motor and household, brokers are now holding
