“Here’s a wild and wacky suggestion, how about treating customers fairly not mis-selling add-on policies?”

It is staggering to think that in the same month that Aviva announced the closure of 13 branches around the UK over the next two years, I’m still going to focus on another story that broke in July.

Instead it is Swinton and the broker’s £7.4m fine that I’d like to share my thoughts on.

In her article on pages four and five, Caitlin Morrison goes through the details behind the record-breaking fine and, quite rightly, gives Swinton the full opportunity to reply.

FCA warns on fake letters

The Financial Conduct Authority has warned of fake letters claiming to be from deputy CEO Sarah Pritchard and referencing a fake FCA employee.

Pet insurance managing general agent ManyPets has confirmed a customer was contacted by an X account impersonating its brand and has issued a warning on how increasingly convincing scammers can appear.
