Watching the zeroes disappear

Sometimes, increased security against one peril can mean increaseddanger in respect of another. That was illustrated when there was aserious fire in a hotel in Uruguay a while back in which several hundredpeople died. They had been unable to escape through windows which had ironbars cemented into the masonry to deter thieves - all on therecommendation of the hotel's insurers, I believe.
