County Group buys Thompson Brothers

The deal with the Stockport broker takes the County network up to 23 locations and £65m in GWP.

The County Group has bought Stockport-based Thompson Brothers Insurance Consultants for an undisclosed sum.

County Group advised that the business has £2.3m gross written premium (GWP) a year and provides both personal and commercial lines cover.

The deal takes County Group's branch network to 23 locations and staff numbers up to 240.

Thompson Brother, which is run by brothers Barry and Peter Thompson employs eight staff and has around 2,500 clients.
