Allianz UK profit drops 71% to £41.3m for 2015

Insurer says 2015 had "sting in the tail" as December storms cost the firm £93m.

Allianz UK's operating profit for 2015 slumped by 71% to £41.3m as the provider revealed the December storms will cost the firm £93m.

The provider's combined operating ratio (COR) also rose to 102.6% last year (2014: 97.6%) with CEO Jon Dye declaring that 2015 had "a sting in the tail".

He noted that the provider had a COR of 97.9% and an operating profit of £102.8m at the end of third quarter.
