Broker business picks up at fastest pace since 2014

CBI/PwC survey reveals that business volumes increased in the last quarter of 2015 and are set for “robust growth” over next three months.

Business volumes grew at the fastest rate since September 2014 in the last quarter of last year according to brokers polled as part of the PwC/CBI Financial Services Survey.

Profitability also grew at a quicker pace than expected and these profits are expected to grow firmly across the next quarter.

The survey also found that "volumes are set to grow robustly next quarter".

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
