Ryan Direct Group buys Midas

Ryan Direct Group (RDG) has signed an agreement to buy Midas Underwriting - the Northern Ireland-based managing general agent (MGA).

The terms of the transaction, which is still subject to regulatory approval, have not been disclosed and the deal is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2016.

Derek Coles, CEO of RDG which is part of Chicago-based Ryan Specialty Group, said the acquisition will give RDG extra capability in niche and specialist lines in home, motor and commercial.
