Up to 50 broker-facing roles to go in Zurich cutbacks

The provider will not be exiting any lines of business as part of plans to shed 440 jobs in the UK.

Around 50 broker-facing roles will be among a total of up to 440 jobs that Zurich plans to cut from its UK general insurance business.

The insurer is aiming to reduce its costs by at least £40m over the next two years and simplify its operating structure.

Zurich has begun consulting employees on the proposals which are underway and will continue until the end of March 2016 according to a statement released earlier today.
