Hughes Insurance to revert to panel of insurers

Broker to move away from operating with its owner, Liberty, as a standalone underwriter.

Hughes Insurance is to phase out using owner Liberty as its standalone underwriter and will revert to having a panel of insurers Insurance Age can exclusively reveal.

And from 1 July the current chief executive Gareth Brady will become the chairman of the business and his role will be filled by the sales and marketing director Brian McDowell.

The change concerning the panel is outlined in an email sent to the broker's staff on 25 June by McDowell, which has been seen by Insurance Age.

It notes

SRG broker to wholesale pothole damage cover
