Ex-FSA chief John Tiner to chair Towergate
John Tiner to replace Alastair Lyons who held the chairman post for four years.
John Tiner is to join the board of Towergate as chairman succeeding Alastair Lyons.
The move, which had been well trailed in the press, is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval and is expected to take place in early June.
Tiner joined the Financial Services Authority in June 2001 as managing director of the consumer, investment and insurance directorate.
In September 2003, he was appointed as the regulator's chief executive and stayed until 2007.
He is also an independent non-executive
