Online venture for younger people "unique" says founder Rodilosso

Teenagers

Julie Rodilosso says offering was inspired by the words of Jeremy Clarkson.

An online venture that combines social content and financial products aimed at younger people is a completely new concept according to its founder.

Julie Rodilosso told Insurance Age ZugarZnap will officially launch on 1 June and will have no rivals in the market.

"We really don't have any competition at the moment - it's unique. Of course there will be competition which is healthy as it sets standards."

Rodilosso, who is also the CEO of the XS Cover company, founded ZugarZnap along with Andrew Wheeler and Mads Holst.

Mix
She said that between them they have a mix of skills and experience covering social media, insurance and community engagement.

ZugarZnap will provide some of its own products among a selection covering insurance, finance and telecommunications according to Rodilosso.

Those behind the venture claim that it will address what they describe as the general lack of brand loyalty in the insurance industry and siloed services by integrating into customers' everyday lives and allowing them to interact with the brand.

"It's an online venture aimed at the 19 to 30 year old demographic that creates an actual social community that is cool and fun because insurance isn't that interesting," Rodilosso continued.

Jeremy Clarkson
"The community will also offer relevant products and services that will save them money."

Rodilosso said she got the idea for the venture from something Jeremy Clarkson said on Top Gear.

Without being drawn on the exact words or phrase, she added: "I was just watching the programme and he said something and I said 'wow'."
